Argentina is located on the eastern side of South America. Argentina stretches from Brazil 2075 miles to Tierra del Fuego. Buenos Aires is the nations capital.

We decided to fly in 2 days before our cruise as we left San Francisco at 9:30 a.m. and did not get into Buenos Aires, Argentina until almost 10 a.m. the next day. We wanted some time to tour the city and if we left the day before, we would have gone directly to the ship.

Buenos Aires was having a Grand Prix the day we arrived. All the cars were brightly colored and were racing on the city’s main roads. The streets were not closed to regular traffic, so the race cars were weaving in and out of traffic. The streets were lined with spectators, some sitting in lawn chairs on the roof of their vehicles to get a good view.

We explored the Florida, an street that is closed to traffic, and visited the shops and kiosks. We had lunch at a charming sidewalk cafe. It was nice to take a rest, listen to the live music and watch all the activity on the Florida. We visited a traditional Argentina Steakhouse for dinner. They were roasting the meats on open spits right in the restaurant. We all left dinner smelling like smoked meat.

The next day we took a tour of the city before boarding our ship. It was a whirl wind tours that covered most of the city. Our favorite was La Boca which is a artist area with brightly colored buildings.

La Boca Streetfront

No trip to Buenos Aires is complete without a visit to Casa Rosada, The Pink Palace.

With cruise prices at record lows, we decided to take a South American cruise from Buenos Aires, Argentina around the horn to Valparaiso, Chile. I could not believe the price we got on a balcony cabin. We usually budget $100 for an outside or between, so we were delighted to get a balcony for less that $100 a day.

We have always loved Celebrity Cruise, so we booked a 14 day cruise on the Infinity. I am keeping a journal of my travels and will share them with you.

Wine lovers around the world recognize California as prime wine country. The northern regions of Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley and Alexander Valley are some of the finest wine producing regions in the world. With a huge variety of grapes grown and excellent growing conditions it is no wonder that California Wine Country is also prime Wine Tourism Country.

While there are many areas in the United States that produce excellent wine, California’s northern regions are unique in their productivity. With the perfect niche climates an amazing range of grapes flourish through Napa, Alexander and Sonoma valleys. Warm days and cooler nights allow the vines to produce large crops with excellent flavor. Wineries are famed for the quality of the wines produced in the area and have been awarded many prizes at world-wide wine competitions.

Grapes have grown naturally in California for years before anyone considered cultivating them for wine production. The first person to produce grapes specifically for wine was George Calvert Yount. His vineyard in Napa Valley was the first of many. In 1861 the first commercial vineyard was opened in Napa Valley and the region never looked back.

Despite the region’s small size, the number of vineyards and wineries has grown immensely with over 400 in operation at this time. Many of these are open to tourist, making Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley highly desirable locations for wine lovers. In fact, the tourist trade has grown so much that it is hard to tell which is more important to the region’s economy - tourism or wine making. They are so deeply linked that it seems that neither could survive without the other.

Tourists are welcomed to Wine Country with a grand offering of wine tours and tastings. Special events are scheduled on a regular basis to highlight the sampling of wines and to celebrate the rich history of the region. Some wineries offer courses to visitors and encourage tourists to learn more about wines and wine making. Others take pleasure in educating visitors of the joys in pairing wines with gourmet food choices.

Because Wine Country is so popular it is a good idea to book your accommodations in advance. Whether you choose a hotel or a comfy inn, there are lots of types of accommodations available for your selection. Some visitors choose bed and breakfast options, while others prefer to camp out or rent a cottage for their visit. If you plan to travel throughout the regions you should look into a range of accommodations to get a better feel of the area and the rich heritage that surrounds it.

In between tastings and wine tours, be sure to check out the other attractions of the regions including spa treatments in Calistoga, select shopping experiences, picturesque hiking trails, sightseeing tours and luxury train rides. California’s Wine Country has something to offer everyone, wine lover or not. By planning your trip in advance you can take advantage of everything the wine country has to offer and have the trip of a lifetime.

In the event that you are almost to the point where you are ready to never step foot on a plane again, you are not alone. First, you have to consider the fuel prices, which are currently through the roof. Then you have to consider the economic slowdown - are you really going to be able to afford to go anywhere this year? Then you have to consider the reduction in the number of flights and the no service, cattle call approach the airlines are adopting these days. Last but not least, you have another round of crazy, new fees and demoralizing cutbacks that are being added just for fun.

Whether you take the time to wake up and realize it or not, it’s true, there are several routes that are considered to be astonishingly expensive for some reason this summer. I would like to show you how you can receive an airfare bargain just like all of the other travelers. You should take advantage of them while they are in existence because it isn’t going to be too much longer before they are gone also.

Well the deal is that American is selling all of the fares to San Jose which is the capital of Costa Rica for a small amount of sixty nine dollars for a one way ticket from Fort Lauderdale, which is good to be used for travel through the 30th of October.

The Mississippi Gulf Coast is well-known precisely as the area which all of the residents of New Orleans went so they could breathe free at the time they were experiencing disease-ridden, hot, summers of pre-air-conditioning, because this region that was found quirky was ravaged famously by Hurricane Katrina. However, the Mississippi Gulf Coast is currently in overdrive rebuilding. There is an airfare bargain of one hundred and nine dollars one way, available through U.S. Airways from Las Vegas, New York LaGuardia, Boston, Denver, and Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and Baltimore for Saturday and midweek travel through the 12th of November.

Right now there are a huge number of cruise travel deals. The great thing about cruises is that they are almost all inclusive travel. With the economy uncertain, many people are putting off cruise vacations. I have seen some incredible deals, especially on short notice sailings.

Here are some example of the kind of deals that are out there:

7 night Caribbean Cruise from $349.00

9 night Caribbean from $589.00

10 night Panama Canal from$1100.

There are longer cruise for even better values. Most cruise lines are giving free upgrades on on board credit to entice you to book. I have not seen cruise prices this low for a long time. If you are looking to go on a cruise now if the time to book.

A great family vacation is to take a cruise vacation. It is more affordable than many other types of vacations. Accommodations, meals and activities are all included. There are many more destinations available now to choose from than ever before. To make traveling with the entire family easier, you should plan ahead. When you book your cruise, you should look for a cruise line that offers family travel deals and activities for all members of the family. You can find this information on most cruise websites, if you take the time to look around. It can be overwhelming with so many options to choose from, but keep in mind the needs and interests of all family members who will be going on the cruise and you should be able to narrow it down somewhat.

Many cruise ships have areas set aside that are designed especially for children, often divided into age groups. Some of these areas are even staffed by members of the cruise staff that have been trained and certified in childcare, so that you and your spouse are free for few hours for some adult time, without the children. It is a good idea to do your own research, rather than just assume that every staff member is qualified to care for your children. Ask to see certification documentation, and find out how many children will be left in charge with one staff member, so that you will have a better idea of what kind of attention your child will receive. If there is an average ten kids to one staff member, then you can bet that there will be some things that will go unnoticed. It is also a good idea to find out how the staff would contact you in an emergency situation; some ships are equipped with paging systems, where the device will vibrate or alarm when you are needed. If you have certain activities that you would rather your child not be involved in, such as playing explicit or violent video games, you should take the time to find out in detail what the children will be doing when left in these areas. You can request that your child not be permitted to do certain activities, but if you are really concerned, you may not want to leave your child here.

Most cruise lines put on extra security when there is a large number of children on board. The purpose of this security is to ensure your children stay safe while attending cruise activities and make sure that no unauthorized adult makes contact with you child. You can have peace of mind while you are relaxing or doing adult activities.

When going on a family cruise, it is important not to leave anyone out of the final considerations. If you have small children, then you should choose a family oriented cruise, with lots of age appropriate activities available. Everyone should have fun on your cruise vacation, both the adults, and the children. This is your time to spend time with each other, and do something fun all at the same time.

Walleye Fishing: A Beginner Angler’s Guide to the Walleye

In case you have never been fishing before and it’s your first time, many of your knowledgeable fishing friends will probably advocate to go fishing for Walleye. It is found in the northern fishing areas of the northern United States and Canada. It is a very well-liked fish, and also the state fish of Minnesota, is also an achievement to catch it. Once you are able to get one its worth all the effort. Here are some fascinating things you might want to know about the walleye.
Getting to know the Walleye

The other names given to the Walleye, or Sander Vitreus, are Walleyed pike, yellow Walleye, Pickerel or yellow Pike even it is no relative of Pikes or Pickerels. This fish with numerous names is a native of Canada, even though it also found in many northern parts of the United States. You can say it is the North American cousin of Europe’s Pike Perch.

What do Walleye look like?

Walleye is a sleek looking beautiful fish that grows to about 30 to 36 inches in length. There looks is more or less like the Perch. They are said to have a weight of almost 10 to 15 lbs. or 5 to 7 kgs, there may be some who are heavier. For example, if you catch a Walleye in the state of Montana, it can weigh more than 16 lbs. and can be around 36 inches in length. They have a huge mouth which is packed with sharp teeth.

The color of Walleye is a mixture of gold and olive and the middle part is generally olive, and the color slowly turns golden at the flanks. The bottom of the fish is white, with dark saddle on the upper side.

For this fish the female Walleye is more likely to be bigger compared to males. The growing speed depends on the area and the food they get. For instance Walleye found in southern regions are inclined to grow larger and faster than others.

Walleye are able to live for 10 years or even more. In fact, believe it or not, the longest living Walleye recorded lived to be 29. This can only be possible in regions where the fish population is untouched. Though, in places where there is a lot of fishing the fishes don’t survive for more than 4 or 5 years.

Why is this fish named Walleye?

There is a reason for the fish being named Walleye; underneath its eye surface there is a layer that collects light and its eyes reflect this light. As a result the fish is able to see even in areas where there is very little light. This also explains the reason that why Walleye can stay in deep water. This has been noticed by many anglers who typically fish for Walleye during dusk or at night, and this is the time for feeding also.

Walleye also have the capability to see well in rough or breaking water in northern fishing grounds, and it goes to catch the prey. Due to this reason many fish catchers go into the rough water.
